The Kayla Foundation has given valuable, expressive resources (MUSIC!) to children who are seriously ill or who have experienced the loss of a loved one.  Our community is beyond fortunate to have the support of this foundation. THANK YOU!

The grant has helped all of my students, including 195 low-income students,  participate more fully in our school’s music program. By raising the volume of instruction and class discussion above the ambient noise of the classroom, the Qball has increased my students’ ability to learn and sing in their second language.

Each fall, the Poudre Choirs hold a retreat and perform in a city-wide advanced women’s choir festival where every student involved in choir across the 5 separate performing ensembles require transportation to the event.  Since it involves every student, it is only possible to pull this event off by being able to offer free bus transportation for all students.  This would not be possible without the Kayla Grant!

Thank you for the Kayla Grant!  As a low income school I don’t always know how I’m going to meet the needs of my students. Time and again I have been able to fill some of those needs because of the Kayla Foundation! My students and I are so grateful!

We were able to continue providing a quality education in music performance by having music to learn songs by and a pitch pipe to practice singing a Capella.

Each year in May, the Irish Elementary Flor Antigua Dance group and Las
Estrellitas Choir tour various sites in Fort Collins to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Our school has a rich history of sharing the unique culture of our school with other schools in the district, businesses, and senior living facilities. The choir and dance groups give students in Grades 1-5 an opportunity to perform and is a source of pride for many of our families who would otherwise not have an opportunity like this outside of school..

This project will be completed in early May, 2020 when our Choir (Las Estrellitas) tours Fort Collins for Cinco de Mayo. This grant will help my choir by providing funding to make this tour possible. It will also allow me to increase the number of students who are interested in joining choir. In the past I have had to limit the number of students joining and many students were left out. I’m excited to have this funding and will accept more students who enjoy singing and performing music!  Our school choir is growing!!!

“The Kayla Foundation grant will provide an opportunity for my students to experience performing in a choir. This will have a lasting impact on my music program and will strengthen the music traditions at Irish Elementary for years to come. I am so excited to be able to use this funding for our Cinco de Mayo tour this Spring. Thank you Kayla Foundation!”

I wish I could have photographed my 8th grade singers when they tried on their dresses.  They were all completely beaming.  Each one came into the choir room, twirled around, felt like a Disney princess, and held her shoulders high.  When the girls got on stage for their first concert, they looked so beautiful.  They were uniform, they felt confident, and I know their sound was positively impacted because of their uniforms.  None of the girls had to worry about finding clothes that fit or were appropriate because they had this beautiful choir dress to wear.

The support of the Kayla Foundation is ‘instrumental’ to our ability to provide musical experiences for the children in our care.  Further, the Kayla Foundation’s  support of our sing-along enables us to increase awareness of the importance of high quality early childhood environments that incorporate music into the curriculum

This is a unique organization here at school that reaches a segment of students that normally would not be a part of other clubs or music programs here. it engages kids and keeps them connected to school and other kids with similar interests.

The Kayla grant simply allows us to exist. It removes the barriers of cost for our program and therefore allows many kids to participate.

The outcome of this grant was that we were able to repair 4 instruments to get them in completely payable condition.  Each of these instruments are being used by (or will be used by) students that cannot otherwise afford their own instrument and wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in band.  Also, this has enhanced our entire ensemble because students get to play on instruments that function and play well.

The Kayla Grant allowed one of our star students to attend our trip to NYC to sing at Carnegie Hall. This grant truly changed his life, and continues to impact our community at large in major ways. Thank you, Kayla Foundation!

Music therapy made a big difference in these students’ lives. They would run to the music therapy because they were so excited. The class in which those students are enrolled is calmer, more focused and efficient. Music therapy helped the students with special needs manage anger and outbursts.
